About the Author

His father a boat racer in the '40s and '50s, Bernie's life-long interest and passion for Vintage Motor Boat Racing has led him to some treasure troves of material and racing equipment, as he documents the early people, engines used, and how it all came together to create the modern-day sport that it grew largely into today... He has participated in American Powerboat Association racing since 1976, has won Canadian National Championship in C-Service Runabout in 1978 and '79, and U.S. National Championship for Evinrude-only C-Service Runabout in 1985 and the U.S. Championship for PR Racing Runabout in 1979. He has recently retired from racing after 35 years, but continues to participate in boat racing events as an official.
